Vanessa Longo – Italy

Born in Italy in 1974, Vanessa Longo is an internationally acclaimed visual artist whose career bridges classical European traditions with contemporary practice across Europe, North America, and China. She holds an honors degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and specializes in public muralism and Byzantine mosaic techniques. Longo's interdisciplinary approach has been profoundly shaped by a personal experience with amnesia following a brain tumor diagnosis, which shifted her focus towards exploring memory recovery and the complexities of the human mind. Her current work is a process-oriented investigation using a unique copper sheet metal technique to physically manifest ephemeral emotions and memories through abstract symbolism. Longo's work has been widely exhibited in premier institutions including the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and the London Biennale, and she continues to participate in prestigious international artist residencies.
