Ivana Ivkovic – Serbia
STUDIO @ Weisses Rössl
Ivana Ivković’s (1979) artistic practice is shaped by nomadic experiences, travel, and encounters with diverse cultures. She graduated in painting, completed a Master’s degree in drawing, and earned a PhD in performance art at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. Ivković is internationally recognized for her work in delegated performance, through which she deconstructs and reconfigures gender roles, political relations, and ethical questions. In many performances, the collective male body functions as a critical mirror of social stereotypes, prompting audiences to reflect on their own assumptions. Working interdisciplinarily, Ivana treats the exhibition itself as a medium, creating site-specific installations that produce multisensory experiences of space and event. Her work consistently examines the shifting boundary between intimate and public spheres, as well as the position of the individual within complex socio-political contexts. Ivković has exhibited internationally, collaborating with institutions and museums across Europe and wider.
