Goda Palekaite from Lithuania works primarily at and in the exciting intersection between visual art, performance, artistic research, literature and anthropology. Beginning with in-depth, mostly historical research, her works culminate in films, sculptures, texts, installations and performances. The focus is on historical figures who challenged cultural clichés and ideologies and were therefore marginalised as dissidents, heretics or deviants. The artist's reports merge with those of these personalities, who all broke through the convictions of their time in their own way. The works and performances have been shown at the Västerås Art Museum in Brussels, at the Biennale Architettura 2018 in Venice and at the Whitechapel Gallery in London, among others.
