In his work, the Zwickau-born artist concentrates mainly on spatial installations, sculptures and video art. Human behaviour in extreme situations is a recurring theme in his work. Since 1992, he has exhibited in over 250 galleries and museums worldwide, including the Leonardimuseum Dresden (Germany), the Fukumitsu Art Museum (Japan), the Smart Museum of Art Chicago (USA), the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck (Germany) and the ZKM Karlsruhe (Germany). His works are represented in over 50 national and international museum collections. These include illustrious names such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Czech Museum of Fine Arts in Prague.
