Albano Hernandez (*1988) lives and works in Cambridge, UK

STUDIO TIME @ Strandhotel Margaretha 28.4. — 05.05.

Albano Hernandez from Ávila in Spain is one of the artists who take a particularly critical view of the world. Perception, value and productivity are central to his painting. Inspired by the culture of meat consumption and the important role played by the meat industry in the Ávila of his childhood, his work focuses on the aesthetics generated by meat as a commodity. Apparent opposites merge into an artistic unity: labour-intensive practice and industrial process, cutting and creating, impurity and purity. He uses the circular economy to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
